MASSES:

PENANCE SERVICE

Scheduled during Advent and Lent.

CONFESSION

1/2 hour before Saturday Mass or by appointment. (Penitent must contact priest. Priest does not sit in confessional.)

CONFIRMATION

Scheduled as needed.

FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFESSION

Child must be in at least in the 2nd grade, registered in the Parish and attending regular C.C.D. classes.
First Communion is on Mothers' Day (second Sunday in May).
The child and parents, starting 9 weeks before First Communion date, must attend nine (9) classes. First Confession is scheduled before First Communion.

SACRAMENT OF THE SICK

Administered any time, when requested.
Mass for the sick of the parish and the anointing of the sick is on the first Friday of each month at 5PM.

BAPTISM

The Child's parents request baptism. An interview is conducted with parents and godparents to determine eligibility. A class on baptism is required for parents and godparents prior to the baptism. Parents and godparents must be registered, active members of the parish. If the godparents are from another parish, they will need a letter from their pastor stating they are active, registered parishioners in good standing. If parents are from another parish, they will need to get a letter of permission from their pastor giving permission to have the child baptized in this parish.

MARRIAGE

A couple wishing to get married at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Church must contact the Pastor/Administrator at least six (6) months prior to the desired wedding date.

A CATHOLIC COUPLE: The couple must be active, registered members of the parish. They need to have made their First Communion, First Confession and Confirmation and provide proper documentation.

A MIXED MARRIAGE: The Catholic party must be an active, registered member of the parish and needs to have received the Sacraments of Communion, Confession and Confirmation. The Bishop of the Diocese, through the parish priest, gives permission for a Catholic to marry a non-Catholic.

ALL COUPLES: The couple will need to have an interview with the pastor, a prenuptial inquiry, and at least four (4) discussion sessions about marriage with pastor or delegate. The wedding rehearsal is normally the evening before the wedding, but other arrangements may be made.

Weddings at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church are normally scheduled between 11AM and 2PM on Saturdays, but other arrangements may be made. There is a minimal $100.00 fee for the use of the church for a wedding.
